Many segments of society have been targeted with legislation, in order to make these sectors of the economy NAFTA compliant. NAFTA (and FTAA) is less about trade and more about who will be the decision makers. We must wake up to the fact that this is part of a movement of global proportions to control our federal, provincial, and local govenments and us. If we are compliant, we are guaranteed a life of servitude.
Time is running out. The "powers that be"
are counting on us becoming so demoralized that we feel powerless
to better our situation. Guidance is to be found within ourselves. Each
person will have to take a stand according to his or her circumstances.
We must stop reacting to situations and instead become pro-active by
creating positive situations for ourselves.
We must act now. The "powers that be" count on our being
overcome with the fear of punishment if we do not concede to their dictates.
They have brought into law limits on our freedoms. We can throw off
fear if we can adopt the same stance as Mohandas
Gandhi and his followers.
Let each individual, with renewed resolve, rise to the occasion and develop
his or her potential to become all the she or he can be. Acting collectively
as individuals in a harmonious and co-operative way we can uplift the
human spirit. There is certainly more to us than meets the eye. By tapping
into the creativity within ourselves, and by devising a back-up plan
to provide for ourselves and our families, we can find the courage to
persevere. With our collective resources, material and human, it is
possible to create all that we need to support ourselves. We can then
be in a position to help those who are harassed or fired because they
were completely honest with themselves and others and spoke their truth.
This pro-active stance, once established, will give others the courage
to "tell it like it is," leave their positions and live their truth.
If the stock market takes a tumble we will find ourselves in a position
where our basic needs can be met. It is possible with a new interpretation
of venture capital to create a variety
of model businesses which treat workers with respect and dignity. If
everybody tapped into that creative source within and supported each
other, imagine all of the wonderful things that could be created for
each other and for the benefit of society.
There are watershed choices to be made. We are are
all in a pivotal position to determine our future. We are the ones responsible
for the quality of life on this planet. Collectively, we have created
it by our acts of commission or omission. Collectively, one person at
a time, we will change it. We must persevere for as long as it takes.
When faced with a difficult situation, remember the saying "Wherever I go, there I am". We cannot run away from ourselves. Depending on the choices we make, we can lead joyful lives or lives of quiet desperation. We must seek to find our own voice and express it; the longer we wait to begin the more chance we won't find it at all.
We must ask ourselves, what is the heritage we are going to leave to our children? If we feel no motivation to leave our "comfort zone" so we can grow, then surely love calls us to do so for our children... so that they can live in a world that allows them to become all they can be.
